A NIAGARA PARKS SUMMER GUIDE

(2023 - Spring/Summer Issue)

Writer: DREAMSCAPES STAFF

For many vacationers, Niagara Falls has been an annual summer bucket list trip packed with wonder! From the awe-inspiring thundering water to the mist cooling off visitors to the bustling entertainment at the city’s nearby attractions. Now Niagara Parks has even more new experiences to offer visitors.

Take the newly renovated Table Rock Centre, sitting perched at the brink of the Horseshoe Falls!

Rearing nearly 100 years old, Table Rock Centre is rich with Canadian history, but don’t fret; this historic tourist hub is far from what visitors experienced a century ago or even five years ago! From the modern innovative touches to the subtle integration of the building’s long and historic past, this one-stop shop offers a completely updated experience with new renovations completed this year.

Here are three ways you can rediscover Niagara Parks during your summer visit to the world’s most renowned waterfalls.

Time to Eat

After a stroll in the park, chances are you will have worked up an appetite. There’s no need to leave the leafy green surrounds and floral-lined Niagara Parkway for dining pleasure. Table Rock Centre offers a variety of dining experiences suited for whatever you crave, from Parisian-inspired meals overlooking the Horseshoe Falls at Table Rock House Restaurant to a selection of fast casual options at Table Rock Market.

Table Rock House Restaurant also has exciting updates for the 2023 season with a new head chef joining the team. Indulge in an innovative menu from Executive Chef Matt Krupa, a Niagara native, whose culinary prowess around the globe has resulted in an international homage to local flavours that showcases the Niagara food and wine scene to the millions of travellers who pass through Table Rock Centre each year. The landmark restaurant is the perfect place to sit back, relax, and sample the best of what Niagara Falls has to offer.

Shop Canadian

Table Rock Centre is not just about food; the landmark is also home to a range of shops offering everything from souvenirs and gifts to iconic Canadian brands of clothing and accessories. Whether you’re looking for a keepsake memento to remember your trip or you want to pick up something practical for your travels, you’ll find what you need at Table Rock Shop.

Table Rock Centre is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience all of what the area offers. With its rich history, modern facilities, and exciting new attractions, it’s the perfect place to start your Niagara Falls adventure. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveller, you’re sure to be impressed by everything the tourist centre has to offer.

Journey Behind the Falls

You might have donned the souvenir protective poncho handed out at this attraction that descends 38 metres via elevator. But now, thanks to a venue refresh, there are state-of-the-art interactive displays for guests of all ages that dive into the history of Niagara Falls. The newly renovated Journey Behind the Falls

provides an extended experience of this world-class attraction that begins as soon as you arrive. Fun tidbits include a timeline that showcases the geographical formation of Niagara Falls as well as detailing fascinating historic revelations of the Niagara Parks’ nightly lights spectacle of rainbow hues that shines on the frothing falls, famously known as the Falls Illumination.

Don’t worry, the reno has left the elevator experience intact. Prepare yourself to be marvelled as you make the descent, which is equivalent to the height of Niagara Falls. Once the elevator door opens, the thundering roar of the Horseshoe Falls blasts loudly throughout this underground tunnel system. Walk to one of the lookout points for unbelievably close-up views of the rushing water and step out onto the observation deck at the foot of this 13-storey-tall wonder. You will be left breathless at the mythic size (and a wee bit wet).

Table Rock Centre Originally built in 1827, this landmark is famously known as the closest building to the Falls. The iconic site hosts nearly 10 million visitors every year!
