WHEN ONLY THE BEST WILL DO

(2013 - Winter/Spring Issue)

When you’re serious about luxury, you can’t do better than Trump International Beach Resort in Sunny Isles Beach.

Located midway between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, this exquisite resort sits on four oceanfront hectares, stands 32 storeys tall and features 390 extra large guest rooms and suites, all with views of the Atlantic or the Intracoastal Waterway. Even more fabulous are its amenities: a spa and fitness centre, restaurants, lounges, tennis courts and a stunning seaside grotto-style pool, complete with fountains and lush landscaping.

If vacation means always feeling the sand between your toes, check out the newest in oceanfront dining. Bella Beach sits directly on the white sand and invites you to lounge on custom chaises and daybeds as you take in the balmy sea breezes and smell the relaxing salt air. Enjoy Mediterranean fare such as salmon caviar, spice-poached jumbo shrimp and lobster, along with fine wine and champagne at this chic, fresh-air restaurant.

For a perfect family getaway, check out the resort’s Stay-a-While package. This new all-inclusive plan aims to provide full relaxation in five days. Rates start at $2,000 for an oceanview room; breakfast; a couples massage at the spa; access to Planet Kids where your four- to 12-year-olds can explore the local environment; a children’s turn-down service featuring bed tents, milk and cookies, and a “star projector” that brings a cosmic galaxy right into your room. You’re also provided transportation to a nearby Bloomingdale’s for a day of shopping, as well as water sports rentals for snorkelling, kayaking and more.

Upgrade, if you’re interested, and add a private dinner cooked by the executive chef and served by a firepit under the stars for a touch of camping, Trump-style.

Opened in 2003, the resort recently underwent a design upgrade to tweak and improve its stunning contemporary look. Starting in the lobby, designers based their palette on the earth-toned marble floor, installing a wood screen to separate the Fusion Lounge from the lobby, upgrading a water feature and adding more guest seating. New furniture also went into Neomi’s Grill and outside by the pool, and guest rooms now feature turquoise and sea green fabrics, along with luxurious new bedding and towels.
