To fully experience all the area has to offer, take a road trip through scenic little coastal towns like Mexico Beach or places such as Marianna where Old Florida still thrives. Along the way, discover a slice of Americana in roadside stands stocked with the freshest juices and fruit you’ve ever tasted and explore places swathed in breathtaking natural beauty. Or browse through unique shops in Destin or lounge on Santa Rosa Beach, one of the best beaches in the world.

Park the car and hike the Florida National Scenic Trail as it winds through unique ecosystems, where your own breath is the only sound you hear. And there are plenty of opportunities to view colourful native birds and other wildlife along the Great Florida Birding & Wildlife Trail.

Water sports enthusiasts can snag a large bass and have it for dinner an hour or two later, or even dive for scallops. Or, you can paddle downstream in a kayak or canoe, past landscapes that haven’t changed in a million years, and catch sightings of wildlife you won’t see anywhere else.
